AI Safety 5-Point Checklist
Before you use AI, ask yourself these 5 questions
🔎
Is it TRUE?
AI can make things up — they're called hallucinations. Always fact-check important information from a second source. If you can't verify it, don't trust it blindly.
✍️
Is it MINE?
If AI wrote it, you still need to own it. Make it yours — rewrite, add your ideas, and always tell your teacher when you've used AI to help. Passing off AI work as your own is plagiarism.
🛡️
Is it SAFE?
Never share personal information with AI tools — no real names, addresses, phone numbers, passwords, or photos of yourself. What you type may be stored and used to train future models.
🤝
Is it FAIR?
AI can reflect biases from its training data. Watch out for stereotypes about gender, race, religion, or disability. If something feels wrong, question it and report it.
📜
Is it ALLOWED?
Check your school's AI policy before using AI tools for homework or projects. Some assignments require 100% human work. When in doubt, ask your teacher first.
