What It Does
Google's multimodal AI assistant, tightly integrated with Google Search, Gmail, Docs, and Drive. The free tier uses Gemini Flash; paid Google One AI Premium unlocks Gemini Ultra, 1 million-token context, and Deep Research for multi-step web investigations.
Setup in 5 Minutes
and sign in with your Google
account (or create one first at accounts.google.com).
- Accept the Gemini terms of service when prompted.
- The chat interface loads immediately—type a prompt or click the
microphone icon to speak.
- To use Gemini inside Google Docs or Gmail, open a document or
email and look for the Help me write sparkle icon in the
toolbar.
- To upload an image or file, click the + icon to the left
of the text box and select your file.
Try This
Ask Gemini "Compare the GDP growth of India and the UK over the
last five years and show me a table." Then ask it to turn the table into
a bar chart description you could paste into a presentation.
Follow Along
Follow Along — Research a Homework Topic.
- Pick one source Gemini cites and search for it manually in your browser. Verify it exists and says what Gemini claims.
- Ask Gemini: "Using only the verified facts, write me a 150-word paragraph I could use in a school essay, with in-text citations."
- Compare Gemini's paragraph to what you would have written yourself—note what it adds and what it misses.
